Arctic Polar Holiday Village
Book the Arctic Polar apartment in Kilpisjärvi. You can make a reservation in the online store, by e-mail, by phone or by coming directly to the reception. The reception staff is there from 16:00 to 20:00 and when the reception is closed, the staff can be reached on the phone 24 hours a day. We also accept one-night stays.
The pleasantly small holiday village is known as a hiker's paradise, which offers quality accommodation and services at the foot of Saanatunturi in Kilpisjärvi. Best of all we have stunning scenery all year round. Clean air and good energies guarantee good sleep. The winter sky turns red. The colors of spring are blue and golden tan. Summer is green with small flowers and just a few mosquitoes. Autumn stains nature yellow and red in the fall. Kaamos lasts only two months and is not as dark as thought. A nightless night lasts for two months, so you also have to remember to sleep. The most popular thing to do is the peak of Saana. Hiking, skiing or snowmobiling on the border of the three kingdoms. Several excursion destinations can be reached on foot or by skiing. Photography in all seasons. Fishing by ice fishing, casting and trolling. Norway's great scenery (20km) and the Arctic Ocean (55km). Northern lights can be seen 200 nights a year.
Arctic Polar Holiday Village is holiday village in Kilpisjärvi, founded in 2004. The owner’s roots are centuries old in these areas. The holiday village has 20 apartments in four log houses and a Mutteri restaurant. The buildings were completed in 2006-2008 and are self-produced. We are located in the best location on Lake Kilpisjärvi, on the slopes of the Saana fell, more than 500 meters above sea level, along a beautiful and small rippling mountain stream. There are hiking trails, toboggan runs, trails and shops nearby.

Hiking
Meet all the fells of the fables, the Maiden of Malla, Uljas Saana, the dark Pältsa and the old sage Best. From Kilpisjärvi, you can easily hike along marked routes in Finland, Sweden and Norway. Thanks to good landmarks, you can take short day trips outside the marked trails on clear days without any worries, only walking in the Malla Nature Park area is limited to the marked trail passing through it in summer.
Northern lights
Come to Lake Kilpisjärvi in the spring and early autumn. When the sky is clear, go out for hours on either side of midnight. Northern Lights are visible on three nights out of 4. The best time to watch Northern Lights is hours on either side of midnight. Spring winter and early autumn are statistically the most favorable times for the occurrence of northern lights. Spring is also an average low cloud time, so March is the recommended time to wait for the northern lights.
Skiing
In Kilpisjärvi you enjoy Finland's only alpine scenery and you can ski in the shelter of the great fells. Trails can be found on everything from a flat lake trail to a traditional trail that runs through the Malla Nature Park. The Kilpisjärvi trails are maintained from late February to early May.
Photography
The midnight sun illuminates Enontekiö from 22 May to 22 July. Beautiful, soft light around the clock. Nature is bursting with landscapes that dizzy the filming into tiny details that just wait for the attentive photographer to record their splendor. The fell plants bloom in July-August, in September you get to capture the unreal colors of autumn. Hiking and trekking routes take you to good shooting locations easily.
Fishing
Lake Kilpisjärvi and the Käsivarri wilderness area offer a wonderful setting for diverse fishing along the most beautiful landscapes and cleanest water bodies in Finland. The most popular fishing in the area is ice fishing, catching arctic char, trout and grayling. Trolling is a growing hobby in Kilpisjärvi, catching up to 6 kg Arctic char. In the last week of June we are holding a real trolling competition. Flies and snails could be tried from July to the end of October.
Snowmobiling
Kilpisjärvi is a great destination and starting point for snowmobiling. Snowmobiling is also an extension of Kilpisjärvi on the routes and gives a challenge to everyone. From Kilpisjärvi you can get to the Arctic Ocean shore, Kiruna, via Heta, even to Rovaniemi and the Victoria route to Muonio. You can get around the route maintained by Kilpisjärven Ladut ry. You can also go to Halt by snowmobile, but Tobogganing always requires the involvement and career permission of a local guide.
