In the middle of fells
at the foothills of Saana fell

Book accomodation from the peace of Lapland

Our cosy holiday village is known as a hiker’s paradise, offering quality accommodation and services at the foot of Saana Fell. What we love most are the breathtaking views throughout the year. Clean air and positive energy ensure a good night’s sleep. In winter, the sky glows red. Spring brings shades of blue and a golden tan. Summer is filled with greenery, tiny flowers and only a few mosquitoes. In autumn, the fall colours paint the landscape yellow and red. The polar night lasts only two months—and it is not as dark as you might think. The midnight sun also lasts for two months, when you have to remember to get some sleep as well. The most popular activity is hiking to the summit of Saana Fell. You can reach the Three-Country Cairn on foot, by ski or snowmobile. Several other excursion destinations are also accessible by hiking or skiing. Photography is rewarding in every season. Fishing opportunities include ice fishing, casting and trolling. Norway’s magnificent scenery is only 20 kilometres away, and the Arctic Ocean is 55 kilometres away. The Northern Lights can be seen on up to 200 nights a year.

Arctic Polar Holiday Village was established in Kilpisjärvi in 2004. The owner’s family roots in the region go back centuries. The holiday village comprises 20 apartments in four terraced log buildings, as well as the Mutteri restaurant. The buildings were completed between 2006 and 2008 and were built by us. We are situated in one of the best locations in Kilpisjärvi, on the slopes of Saana Fell at more than 500 metres above sea level, beside a beautiful little mountain stream. Hiking trails, snowmobile routes, cross-country ski trails and a grocery shop are all nearby.
